From the treadmills, to the squashing of muscles while doing push-ups and not to forget the never ending wait, for your turn to come in the machine, gym more or less means the same to people. If gym feels more like a work to you, for which you never had motivation enough,

Then, join the club.

As, you are not alone. It can be really difficult to push yourself every morning or after work to spend some more miserable hours in the sweaty exercise spaces. In short, there is little to inspire you to get rid of the fat that, you are happily putting for binge eating to let out all the frustration of going to gym.

In reality, you are losing more and gaining less, (I mean, losing your health and fitness and gaining more fat, obviously not the other way round!) And if anything of these were not enough, you always have the 12 month of gym contract which is stripping you off the financial freedom, or rather whatever is left of it.

However, you cannot really deny the fact that, there is rising popularity in functional workouts and the primitive methods. Nonetheless, the world of fitness and training is also changing or rather evolving along with everything else. The up surge of alternative work outs are slowly taking over the space.

Sustainability is the talk of the town now and so why not in the work outs. Learning new set of skills, getting a full body work out and meeting new people is a great substitute for a conventional gym session.

How functional exercises are better?

Unlike the resistance machines and strength training, the functional exercises have its root in the rehabilitation space. Many physical therapists will agree with the fact that, functional exercises have helped the patients to return to their daily life and jobs as normal people.

So, while you will suddenly not become bullet proof with functional exercises, it can be said that the every movements will help in body conditioning, guard against any injury and most, importantly, let you have some fun.

It is a full body, minimal impact work out combining a set of combinations like balance, strength training, flexibility and cardio.

This work out will give you some edge with all the muscles working simultaneously including toes and neck to keep you on board. While, the muscles are keeping you steady, the core will be in overdrive initiating spinal rotation as you paddle to move forward.

Add few gusts of wind and an unstable surface, this is one killer workout!

We all know how fun the game is and no wonder it was included in our physical training classes at school, remember? Aside from pelting your friends with the ball, it has a host of health benefits to offer. Agility is the prime skill required in many sports but, in dodgeball, this is what makes all the difference.

Also, balance and coordination are essentials attributes of the game for a player who is hoping to stay on its feet and eliminate the opposition.

Poi and Hula Hopping

A popular hippy workout, Poi is both physical challenging yet mentally calming. A combination of weighted spheres with twirling strings on one end, spin to your heart’s delight and make variety of pretty shapes.
